Stuff I Can't Live Without: The Local And Organic Edition

Now, no one's a bigger fan of Gwyneth Paltrow and Blake Lively than I am.

Gwyneth's blue jeans and Blake's hair are both on point and on fleek here.

Gwyneth's blue jeans and Blake's hair are both on point and on fleek here.

That being said, I want to talk about something that's been bugging me, which is that I was a fan of Farmaesthetics, the RI based skin (and body) care line made with organic herbs and other all natural good stuff (and made without any yucky toxins), way before either Gwyn and her lifestyle blog Goop.com or Blake and her Preserve.us went public with their adoration, k?

I mean, hey, I was blogging about the Farmaesthetics' Fine Herbal Cleanser (still in my regular rotation of cleansers) and Rosehip & Clay Mint Mask (which I got my friend S. hooked on and that's saying something major because she's super discerning about what she uses for skincare or treatments) ages ago. #LastYear

I also Instagramed something from their Newport Skincare & Treatment Boutique back in 2014. Post-shopping spree. (I do enjoy shopping for skincare. It makes me happy. 😃) In case anyone's keeping track, that's gotta count for something!

Other Stuff From Farmaesthetics That I Won't Live Without:

  • Powdered Silk, Dry Shampoo, $30 - Some days, I'm too lazy to wash my hair. It can be such a project. But I don't to walk around with a greasy scalp or grungy looking hair (My sister would disapprove...She's been a hair stylist forever.). This does the trick by absorbing all that oil and making my hair look fresh and clean.
  • Lip Softener, $12 - One of the most effective lip balms, without any medicine-y taste or smell...I also keep an extra jar in my bedside drawer because (again) you can never moisturize your lips enough, regardless of the time of year. And if you forget during the day, at least you're getting the benefits while you sleep. Remember - chapped lips are painful and (not to get all TLC on you but) un-pretty
  • If I had a bathtub (Yeah, one of the biggest mistakes I made in planning my new bathroom a few years ago was NOT putting in a tub.), I'd hoard their Solar Salt Mineral Bath and Warming Oil (Raise your hand if you're always cold, even in the summer?). **Sigh**

But Wait There's More....

Winter is bru-tal, especially in RI. It does a number on your hair and your skin. That's why it's so important to take extra good care of yourself this time of year. And why I'll be ooh'ing and aah'ing over (and trying) a hair oil and a face oil from Farmaesthetics soon. Stay tuned for my blog about it.

Ciao For Now,

PattyJ
