Positano. Odds are I'm not be pronouncing it correctly, but who cares? It's unlike anywhere else I've ever been and I'm highly recommending you revise your BL (Bucket List) ASAP to include it. Beautiful, beautiful, BEAU-TI-FUL!
Need more convincing? First, stalk the pics (above) we took yesterday; second, check out this cheat sheet I blogged at 6:42 pm your time/East Coast (approx. natch) and 12:42 am Amalfi time. (Red wine wins...again.):
If you can chillax about the narrow road with a few sharper corners (Hey, it's been that way "like" forever, ok?) that brings you into town, then we're gonna get along fine because the views from that road will WOW you more than spying Jude Law at a sidewalk cafe in Rome (Yeah, THAT happened this week!). Postcard Perfect. (Pure Instagram gold too.)
Food & Drink
I've got some insider info on this. Everyone's going to tell you about the coffee, the gelato, and the limoncello in and around Positano, but our #GoCollette tour manager Sergio clued us in on something else that we've dubbed 'the Italian Del's' - lemon granita. And they give you a straw and a spoon. (Sorry/Not Sorry all you Del's purists, but I'm a big fan of both when it comes to indulging in a slush-y treat.)
What To Wear
Take note style bloggers, aspiring ones, and all those who simply like to look sharp - Amid the pastel villas overlooking the almost iredescent blue water, even the most style conscious peeps we saw were wearing sneakers. Blame it on the cobblestones and those hills. Extra points if you can incorporate a great pair of sunnies and/or a statement hat into your beach-y look.
So, who are the stars who frequent this jaw drop gorgeous destination on the Amalfi Coast? None other than international icon, and mega star of Italian cinema, Sophia Loren. I also heard that Denzel (No last name needed.) vacations there. Dustin and Julia have been spotted on occasion and the former Prime Minister of Italy also has a residence.
Ciao for Now,
