This PVD Designer Unpacks The Ultimate List Of Things To Do In The Capital City

I'm a fan of just about everything Erin Myles does as an artist, and first came across her work over on Instagram. Fast forward a bit to when she was kind enough to put together a list of some of her fav local places, which (quite honestly) ended up reading like the ultimate check list of really amazing stuff to do in PVD.

As it turns out, said list is also handy circa now as we approach end of summer/beginning of fall (Which camp do you fall into - the don't want summer to end ppl or those already walking around with PSL's, or Pumpkin Spice Lattes?), and we're all searching for fun things to do during the (sometimes glum) transition from flip flops & strappy sandals to closed toe footwear. So, scroll on for some inspo (That's Instagram speak for inspiration or motivation btw.).

Who Is She?

Erin Myles

Owner/Designer/Maker/One Woman Show at Wanderluxe, a craft jewelry and home goods collection for chic drifters and modern dreamers.

I live in the West End of Providence with my boyfriend, Tobin and chihuahua, Rosa. Our condo is in an old manor building that we’ve lovingly restored. The West End neighborhood wins at architecture, walkability and character. The food and restaurant scene can’t be beat and Broadway is coming into it’s own as a great indie shopping street.

Shop

The Vault Collective - best vintage
White Star Antiques - curated antiques
RI Antiques Mall - picker’s paradise
White Buffalo - global goods
NAVA - bohemian boutique

Eat & Drink

DenDen - spicy Korean Ramen
The Red Fez - mac & cheese, poutine
Timmy’s - grilled bbq chicken pizza
Sazon Bandit Truck - ceviche
North Bakery - literally everything
The Dorrance - pina rum chata on the upstairs balcony

Do

Columbus Theatre - best place to see live music
Boombox - karaoke lounge at The Dean Hotel
East Bay Bike Path - beautiful bay views
Benefit Street - historical architecture porn
RISD Museum (hint: they offer free memberships for RI Artists.)
Edna Lawrence Nature Lab - the natural world’s cabinet of curiosities
The Providence Athenaeum - many leather bound books
Prospect Park - a favorite spot of H.P Lovecraft for panoramic city views
