3 Charming Spots For Your Next Local Adventure With Your Crew

See this content in the original post

If you’re not ready to crank up the Christmas music just yet (Sirius XM has had “like” 3-4 Holiday music channels going for at least a week, maybe two…I’ll stick with Radio Andy and 80’s/90’s nostalgia for right now thx), and the thought of big family gatherings coming up on Thanksgiving is giving you agita, plan a day — on your own or with your fav person or ppl — and runaway to Wickford Village.

We were there last week and discovered two new reasons (and one classic) for why you’ll want to.

🆕 We Must Be Over The Rainbow.

Sure it’s freezing out, but not so much that you wouldn’t stop for a foto with one of these! You don’t need a little dog or ruby slippers to appreciate this homage to the talking apple trees from The Wizard Of Oz. It’s one of several apple trees on display on Brown Street that have all been fashioned from used packing materials. Talk about ramping up the recycle game.

🆕 That Pottery Life

There’s something so relaxing about watching someone else make pottery. Maybe you’ve strolled by Spring Pottery (also on Brown Street), but did you know there’s a studio space behind the shop where you can watch actual pieces being made? The combination shop, pottery studio and living space is the creation of a husband and wife team (he makes the pottery, she’s an author and astrologer) responsible for rescuing the charming property that dates back to 1833 from foreclosure. Take a short video for your IG Stories and follow the brick road (or sidewalk) to our next stop.

Classic - Cafe All Day

Rosé all day? No way when the feel like temp is something like 17 degrees! A hot coffee, hot chocolate or frothy turmeric latte at Shayna’s is much more like it. Go for lunch with friends and get caffeinated up before bundling up for a photo op outside, and possibly a walk down Main Street to ooh and aah over the historic homes decorated for fall/winter.
