5 Things You Can Stream, Scroll, Or Curb Side Pick Up While Quarantining This Weekend

See this content in the original post

It’s week three at home for me and it certainly isn’t getting easier. Tbh, my mind’s been on the mush side (Cream Of Wheat, anyone?) lately and like everyone else, I’m living in elastic waist loungewear and messy hair. But we all obviously have to continue to stay put because this Coronavirus (COVID 19) is a beast! With all this in mind, thought I’d share some of the best things I’ve stumbled across (or that friends have sent my way) this week. Hope they help make your weekend in quarantine a little bit brighter!

  1. Whether you love or hate him, Howard Stern revealed several juicy scoops on his show (live from the bunker, also known as the basement of his Hamptons house) over the last few days. In addition to Tom Brady calling in this coming Wednesday (April 8th), Howard announced that Sirius Radio is making streaming via their smart phone app FREE now thru May 15th. And there are a gazillion other channels to enjoy above and beyond Howard 100. (He also said something about soaking blueberries in water and some baking soda, but I’m sticking with rinsing them in warm soapy water, thank you very much.)

  2. If you’re thinking seriously about making a mask to wear to, say, the grocery store (the end of week news is full of stories debating the pros and cons of donning one right now and I’m firmly on Team Face Mask), my friend Stacey sent me this diy you might wanna try.

  3. Having trouble getting fresh veggies delivered via Amazon Prime for Whole Foods or Stop & Shop’s Pea Pod? (We are!) You may want to consider creating an account via Farm Fresh RI’s Market Mobile Local Food Delivery. It used to be reserved strictly for local businesses, but during the pandemic, they’ve opened it up to us regular folks. They are offering home delivery to Providence, Pawtucket, and East Bay. If you live elsewhere, they do have a pick up option. (For the record, they also feature a ton of other local food items. Granola, kimchi, and edible flowers all caught my eye.)

  4. Looking for something new to keep the kiddos entertained in isolation? My friends over at One Studio Smooch (I worked with the wife of the husband and wife duo behind OSS at Nordstrom for many years where she was a makeup artist and cosmetic department manager; she’s also done my makeup for many photoshoots.) in Cranston are offering neat stuff like virtual birthday parties (via Zoom) and to-go art kits (that you can pick up curb-side). 5. Sure, celebs are supposedly going makeup free for their Instagram updates these days, but I suspect that they may at the very least be dipping into a tinted or luminizing moisturizer. If you want to ramp up the glam quotient in your next selfie or video chat, I recommend checking out this post out from I Want To Be Her, all about the best beauty products for an understated, flattering look on Facetime or whatever your platform of choice is.

Please stay safe and stay well!
