The holidays are a wrap, but January in Rhode Island (grey days with snow or freezing rain not to mention those credit card bills from a flurry of December xmas shopping coming due) means we need superb comfort food and drink and outdoorsy diversions more than ever.

Now, hot chocolate seems simple enough (you would think…), but I’ve had more mediocre and downright unpalatable mugs than I care to remember, running the gamut from lukewarm and way too sweet to gritty and tasteless.

Thankfully, however, this was far from the case yesterday at Beans + Buns in Pawtuxet Village. If you’ve never been, they are located at the space at 2166 Broad formerly occupied by Little Falls and you will want to add them to your winter 2021 rotation.

We popped in and carried out 2 fantastic hot chocolates, tasty and pipping hot. I ask you, is there anything worse, especially on a bitterly cold day, than taking a 1st sip and it’s (shudders) tepid? Also, two exquisite egg-and-cheese-on-a-biscuit breakfast sandwiches. Hear me now and believe me later, you won’t get this kind of food and drink experience at the drive up window of a coffee shop chain.

Also, don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy walking Benefit Street in Providence any season of the year and taking phone photos. Lately, though, I’ve noticed that just about every other lifestyle blogger, content creator, influencer and so on is uploading from there.

So, if like me, you’re wanting to get out and explore other neighborhoods with beautiful historic homes and lotsa character and flair, then PV is great for THAT too. I took the photos below yesterday and shared the one with the red fishing boat last night on IG.

For the latest from Beans + Buns including daily specials, give them a follow over on the ‘Gram.
