My Favorite RI Village Has Their Christmas Tree Lighting This Thursday
Whether you’re obsessed with Stars Hollow (highly recomment the Gilmore Girls rewatch podcast, called I Am All In, that the actor who played Luke Danes is hosting) or the Christmas movie marathons from the folks over at the Hallmark Channel (hey, even THE FONZ is starring in a one ty) or have a friend or online acquaintance who is, you will want to take a spin over to this darling local village.
You can shop small (Yes! Gallery, Serendipity, Wickford Gourmet Factory Outlet, Green Ink, and many more), surround yourself with some authentic old-time-y Christmas magic (I kid you not, they boast one of the most extensive arrays of 18th cent. houses still utilized as privates homes to this very day which is major), take dozens of festive fotos (charge that phone), or a mashup of all three, if you take a jaunt over to Wickford Village in NK this week.
This Thursday (December 2nd) at 6pm is the official tree lighting in Updike Park, where just this past summer Kyra Sedgwick was spotted directing scenes from her upcoming film entitled “Space Oddity.”
And this weekend marks the return of Santa’s arrival by boat, after that and much of the other merriment that would draw big crowds was put on hold last year bc of everything that was going on. (The four photos above are from 2017 & 2018 in The Wick by the way.)
