We Stayed At This Beautiful Farm In Bristol That's A Popular Wedding Venue

See this content in the original post

this week in Bristol

This stunning property is a wildly popular wedding venue and I have shopped their weekend market that takes place in the BARN — but I had no idea how charming the Governor Bradford House is. It was built back in 1745 and George Washington actually visited in 1790.

Thank you so much Mount Hope Farm for inviting me and my husband to stay!

We stayed in the completely cozy Nathaniel Byfield Room. Fun Fact: He was one of the founders of Bristol way back in 1680. (Very easy to fall down an American history rabbit hole when researching him.)

And don’t even get me started about the grounds.

Tom and I went for a walk the other nite after the Sip & Shop they were hosting and spotted a herd of deer in one of the fields. We were in awe. We had never seen that many deer in one place at the same time.

Then yesterday morning we walked out to the COVE CABIN which is adorably Rhode Island rustic with fantastic water views overlooking the Bridge. (Yes, the family built a vacation getaway one mile from their gorgeous main house.)

This is one of the locations where they host weddings. (The other is the BARN which you can see more of in my Sip & Shop post from last night. That space can be completely transformed into a dream-y destination with flowers, catering and the like.)

What an absolutely wonderful spot for a local stay-cation or a wedding party!

Also, do check out their calendar of upcoming events for Spring & Summer 2024.

Thank you so much to everyone at MHF for your hospitality, especially KCB.
