Get Cozy With Your Crew This Winter At This Wonderful Local Coffee House

Over the weekend I was at a Christmas party out of town where espresso (or expresso which Google is now telling me is so wrong…When did THAT happen?) martinis were served, discussed, and consumed enthusiastically.

Also, debated.

Okay, no idea there was an ongoing discourse out there in the world about Baileys (Irish cream) vs. Kahlua.

One thing most people in attendance could agree on, however, was Rhode Island related, so thought I’d share here. (By way, by the time you read this I’ll be on one of the most magical Christmassy tours in the state and posting about it on Instagram, so keep an eye out!)

If the suspense is killing you (just kidding…kinda), you should know that I’m talking about Main Street Coffee in EG, and how it’s the spot for some of the best espresso martinis in the OS (Ocean State). It has a bit of that Central Perk vibe minus the ginormous sofa and Gunther.

Last December, someone I met over on Instagram (That’s thing now for sure and not in a creepy way either…I’ve connected with so many marvelous people via IG over the last few years) actually did a great guest blog all about MSC, these martinis, and how she and her boyfriend both loved hanging out there.

I was thinking of reposting it this week as a matter of fact, but I suspect they ended up breaking up and figured if she stumbled on the post it might be weird, so…

Anywho, I popped in recently with a fantastic friend after having shopped this year’s Christmas in the Barn on nearby Middle Road (Thank you, Marni!) and it was as cozy as ever.

We split a vegan dessert (ummm, so nice to see that they offer dairy free now, I can’t be the only one who has lactose-related drama on the reg) and were able to grab a window seat too.

Not sure if the fireplace in the back was going, but I’m a big fan of that space as well. This time of year when the temps are low and the weather outside can be frightful, it is pretty delightful to sit by a roaring fire with a delicious cocktail and maybe a sweet too, am I right?
