Surfers were out in full force yesterday at Narragansett Beach and still more people were walking their dogs or just strolling around soaking in the sunshine. If you’re looking for another dose of spring later this week, you’ll want to take a spin over to Peckham’s Greenhouse in Little Compton.

I’ve driven by a bunch of times over the years, on my way to somewhere else in the area (Sakonnet, South Shore Beach, yada yada) , and can honestly say it’s imposible to tell how incredible it is from a glance or two thru the car window.

(Full disclosure, I once had someone who was a big fan of PG’s leave me a lengthy comment on the PattyJ.com Facebook Page about how special it is, not to mention a friend of my niece’s who was there last year and had wonderful things to say about the experience.)

These pictures don’t do the 5th generation family biz (The original farm dates back to 1866.) justice either actually because in real, non-I-Phone life, it’s a collection of greenhouses bursting with tons of flowers and plants that are also inter-connected: Think maze meets amazing.

In other words, almost 100% guaranteed to surprise and delight even the most jaded in your friend group.

And forget your fave plant fanatic, they will absolutely freak out!

Whether you’re looking for some winter cheer in the form of fresh blooms or more greenery for your living room, or all the accoutrements to put together your own terrarium or fairy garden (like the ones on display every April during the RWP Botanical Garden’s Fairy Garden Days), you’ll want to add PG’s to your January or February rotation.

I mean, you don’t need me to tell you how brutal Feb. can be around these parts.
