The New Restaurant Everyone In Your Circle Is Probably Posting From Right Now

The restaurant that all your friends are posting from this month?

It’s so worth checking out.

I met a friend for lunch at Chaska (Indian inspired eats and drinks from the same people who brought us Kabob and Curry, Rasa, and Rasoi…the Cauliflower 65, not to be confused with the late 1990’s Vincent Gallo movie Buffalo ‘66 co-starring Christina Ricci, is a must order at Rasoi btw) in Garden City yesterday and ecstatic to report that everything from the service to the dishes and the decor was splendid.

Tbh, I’m not someone who eats Indian food on a regular basis. (I like to tell myself this is partly because I get overwhelmd by the longer menus at most of the local restaurants - and all the choices that go along with - and end up feeling lost.)

The great news is that the Chaska menu is super easy to navigate and straightforward. And our waiter was only too happy to guide us through, recommending a green salad with veggies that was substantial and filling. In addition, I ordered a mango drink he had suggested that had the consistency of a smoothie and was incredibly tasty. (Also adore how you can replace any of the traditional proteins like chicken with TOFU, something to keep in mind if you or someone you know is looking to eat more of a vegetarian diet in 2020.)

In terms of aesthetics (or degree of Insta-worthy-ness for anyone with an I-Phone camera and a dream), this place is off the charts incredible. When I first walked in, I was in awe of the entire interior, including the beautiful bar area! (You’re gonna LOOOOOOVE.) It’s bright and colorful without being the least bit garish.

And I did want to mention that they have an update on the “open kitchen” concept with a glass window that overlooks the dining area and allows you to watch your food being prepared. Frankly I was too busy talking, eating, and trying to snap photos for IG Stories to pay it much attention, but thought you’d want to know.

*Chaska is located at 16 Midway Road in Garden City Center in Cranston, Rhode Island.
