You Can Breakfast Or Lunch Al Fresco At This Charming Newport Cafe & Wow

And the outdoor dining tour of Rhode Island continues…

Yesterday we were in Newport for a pretty unique excursion that I’ll be blogging about later this week. I say this because immediately following, we strolled over to the shipyard and marina where Belle’s Cafe is located. Unfortunately, however, they close at 3pm and by the time we stepped inside the yard, it was too late.

Highly recommend that next time you’re in the City by the Sea, though, you plan ahead and reserve some seats on their patio for an al fresco brekkie or lunch. (Found out later that with the pandemic and all, they are now requiring reservations.)

In the past I’ve gravitated to their breakfast sandwiches because I could hold one in my hand, thus making it easier to explore the area, and scope out any stars who might be in the vicinity (more about this in a sec). Food wise, they’ve also become known for their caprese paninis, butternut squash soup and crab cake benedict.

Now I said THAT about the celebrities because a little bird or two has mentioned to me over these years (since starting this blog) that during Rhody summers past, a number of extremely high profile individuals from the entertainment industry no less have been spotted there — usually because they were having their yachts serviced at an establishment situated in the marina.

Word is that (allegedly) Super Couple Beyonce and Jay Z were seen at Belle’s when they were in NPT a few years ago.

Also, another time pre-Covid, (again, allegedly) Jerry Seinfeld.

And I had heard that Johnny Depp’s yacht (no sign of JD himself, tho) was on the premises in the past as well.
