This Local Food Truck Has The Ideal Comfort Eats For Ushering In Fall In Rhode Island

We’re revisiting a find from earlier this year, today on PattyJ!

If there ever was a time for comfort food…

Earlier this year (before the shutdown when we were still exploring the state without the double whammy of low level anxiety and awkwardness that so many of us are wrestling with rn) we tracked down a new-ish food truck that was, we’d heard, serving up two long standing breakfast staples of ours.

Yup, Little Rhody’s very own “oat mobile” serving up oatmeal bowls and cups of coffee. The food and drink equivalent of a cozy, worn-in sweatshirt or sweater or — dare I say? — a warm hug. (Hi friends, remember when we could actually hug people without worrying we might give them cv? Good times for sure!)

Well, with all the hunkering down and staying in this past spring, I’d lost track of Oatmiel Cafe.

Overjoyed to loop you in about where to find them now that we’re in September, though.

You’ll be bowled over.

You’ll be bowled over.

Tomorrow from 9am to 12noon, the OC (not to be confused with the tv show starring Rachel Bilson, Adam Brody, Peter Gallagher, Misha Barton…also, fairly certain that one of the creators went to my high school in Providence and I knew his brother, but I digress) will be popping up at the Scituate Farmers Market.

So, if you’re an early riser, this could be a phenomenal way to kick off the weekend. Or kick around, if you’re looking for fun-tastic things to do locally.

I mean, it’s open air, the sweet and savory bowls from Oatmiel are about a bazillion steps beyond any instant varieties you might mix up hurriedly in the kitchen on a given morning, and there are probably a bunch of other intriguing local vendors in the mix there as well.

What’s NOT to love?
