3 Festive South County Farms Where You Can Get Your Christmas On This Season

O Christmas Wreaths & Trees

Maybe an artificial tree or wreath just isn’t going to cut the cranberry sauce this season. Or perhaps you’re in the market for some new decorations for yourself or for gifting friends and fam. If there ever was a year to go overboard with green, red, and lotsa shiny things, it is indeed this one. And I just so happen to have three lovely farmsteads where you shop all that and other splendid things right now.

Sure, people post from their sunflower fields in the summer and pumpkin patches come October, but I feel like Clark Farms in Matunuck doesn’t get enough online attention for their Yuletide trimmings! Last year was our first time there and they had a fab selection of wreaths, poinsettias, baubles for the tree, and a heck of a lot more. This week they officially roll out their offerings for Christmas 2021, so you’ll definitely want to make a plan to get there soon.

Lavender growing and cutting season may be over, but come holiday, Lavender Waves Farm in South Kingstown opens on weekend afternoons, so that folks can shop their selection of handmade wreaths, candles, soaps, sachets and more. (We bought a trunk-load of items last December.) If you cannot make it over to Commodore Perry Highway, there’s always their online shop. And for those wanting more time at LWF, they have a stunning luxe suite available for rental on Airbnb.

Last weekend, as promised, my friend KG and I were at The Farmer’s Daughter in South Kingstown for the launch of their Holiday 2021 spectacular and it was dreamy. Locals were out early and enthusiastically scooping up wagons full of thoughtfully crafted wreaths, trinkets for their trees, strings of lights, and other delightful finds. But don’t despair because I’m sure they’ll be restocking all the greenhouses and sheds daily as we move closer to 12-24.

As always, if you take a sleigh ride over to any of these after reading this, please do let them know you found out about them via Patty J and PattyJ.com.
