5 RI Spots Where You Can Pick Up Last Minute Valentine's Flowers For Your S.O.

I want flowers for Valentine’s Day.

I don’t need a car wrapped in a big red bow. (Speaking of which, a year or two ago, when 2 super famous reality stars were gifted cars by their significant others, it turned out the vehicles were either leased or purchased by the person on the receiving end. In other words: Do NOT believe the hype!)

Or a manse on the beach in Gansett. (Remember when it was ghost town there in the winter?)

Or a Birken bag. (Although, not gonna lie, that would be niceeeeee.)

But flowers, pretty flowers, my friends, are CLASSIC .

If you feel the same, and suspect that maybe your beloved dropped the ball this year and did not order any blooms in advance, here are three local places (drop that HINT) that could perhaps save the day.

  1. Ellie’s Prov - You can hop on the Ellie’s site, order a bouq from Flowers By Semia, and pick up your blooms this weekend. While you’re there, why not grab some coffee and croissants? They have the incredible striped (strawberry) ones rn too!

  2. Flowers By Santilli in Cranston: I did a lot of my Christmas shopping here ty by phone. They had these great box trees with ornaments and everything which made an outstanding gift for so many on my list. The service has been top shelf too, which leads me to believe that they could very well whip something special up last minute — stemming any potential Saint Valentine’s Day drama.

  3. Frey Florist & Greenhouse in PVD - One of my cousins brought some Frey flowers to my doorstep at the beginning of all of this and they were lovely! In biz since 1973, and something of a local landmark, the shop is open to a limited number of (masked) customers at a time this month. Yes, you will want to motor over in the next day or so, before they sell out of everything.

  4. Whole Foods RI: WFM is once again running an incredible Valentine’s deal on their roses (any color too, so get those yellow roses for your besties or pink ones for your mom for all that she has done for you) for Amazon Prime members, a double dozen for a surprisingly low $19.99.

  5. Jephry Floral Studio in PVD: The anecdote that best illustrates the magic of Jephry has to do with one of my nieces walking into his space on Broadway in Providence a few years back, in search of a floral arrangement for my mom (no particular holiday or reason, just because).  She walked out with an absolutely gorgeous bunch of flowers that he had put together only a few minutes prior. My mom adored them, and they lasted for quite a long while. Bet he has lotsa beautiful options (while they last) for 2-14.
