This past year we’ve all logged a crazy amount of time on our living room couches, streaming movies and shows (thoughts on the Britney Spears doc on HULU), doom scrolling Twitter, and stress eating takeout. Don’t know about you, but all the extra time at home has made me way too aware of all the spaces around my place that are in need of an update. With this in mind, today I’m spotlighting some Rhody based small businesses that specialize in home goods and line up nicely with any home makeover projects you’re plotting for the spring and summer.

  • PVD Loom: First off, their tag line (“pretty little rugs for your pretty little home”) is brill. This Instagram based business (seeing more and more of that kind of setup btw) is a go-to for refurbished, heirloom quality rugs. Ideal for cozying up your bedroom, hall or entryway this season.

  • Thrift Wicks RI: Looking to marry your love of candles with living more sustainably in 2021? TWRI specializes in hand poured (read: small batch) soy candles in unexpected and unique containers. Think a vintage coffee cup or creamer that you’ll want to keep and use once the candle is donesville.

  • Painted Karma: This family run design business, based in Kingston (located just before the main entrance to the URI campus), repurposes and reimagines old furnishings, turning them into covetable pieces that completely transform a room. I guarantee that once you check out their IG (the before and after posts are really something), you’ll be bookmarking them for the not-too-distant future.

Well, that’s all for now.

Remember, if you shop any of these under the radar gems, be sure to let them know that you found out about them here on PattyJ.com.
