We first visited Diamond Hill Vineyards (in Cumberland, RI) back in 2018 for some fruit wine and hummus and crackers out on their cozy back porch, which sounds like a scene out of a Hallmark movie set in a small New England town.

Flash forward to now and it’s a charming spot for a change of scenery vino and light bite to eat with your favorite person starting this month.

It’s not the trendiest or the most Instagram-ed winery in ‘lil Rhody for sure (for the record sometimes even I have to put my phone away and take a little break from documenting every drink, meal or errand).

In my humble opinion, though, it is an entirely lovely and low key outdoor setting where you’ll want to kick back with some of their River Valley White or Scarlet Run Red (their grape wines…yes, they have those as well if you’re not a big fan of the fruit ones) and either relax with your beloved or have a catch-up chat with a great friend that you haven’t seen in ages.

You can even pack some sandwiches or pick up takeout and turn the whole thing into a picnic.

With everything going on, the folks at Diamond Hill have shortened their hours of operation to three days a week (Thursday thru Saturday, from 12 to 4pm) and they are not doing any tastings at the moment.

No worries, though, because they are anticipating adding another day in May and their wine flights are still available to purchase and enjoy out on that pretty porch.

You will also be relieved (whew) to know that they have outdoor heaters now too, just in case the temps dip and it gets chilly.

I mean, March around these parts tends to be rather unpredictable when it comes to weather, n’est-ce pas?

For additional info, by all means, do go ahead and scope out their site.

And as always, if you wind up motoring over some afternoon in the not-too-distant future because you read about them here, please let them know you heard about them via PattyJ.com.
