I’ve had my eye on Sweet Marie’s Tea Cottage in Wickford for weeks, ever since I stumbled on it while strolling around The Wick. (It used to be My Paris Apartment which if I recall correctly, was a combo florist and antique shop.)

Well, yesterday I met the owner (she named the cottage after her grandmother) and got a peak inside and it did NOT disappoint.

I mean, it this place magical or what? Like something out of a fairytale or a movie!

It’s all very best of shabby chic X Miss Honey’s cottage from the movie Matilda (which used to be a big part of the tv rotation at our house when my nieces were small).

Aesthetically speaking, we’re talking some top shelf cottagecore here, people! (Search the hashtag on IG or your app of choice and you’ll see exactly what I mean.)

For those wanting an al fresco experience, thankfully there’s a lovely patio with a white picket fence where you can enjoy your tea, scones, finger sandwiches, and sweets.

They also have Gooseneck Wine (which is based a stone’s throw away on Brown Street in the Village) and tea-infused craft cocktails.

You can’t just pop in, though. (May I refer you to the classic episode of Seinfeld called “The Letter” that featured actress Catherine Keener who in my book was “the indie movie Julia Roberts” during the late 90’s and early 2000’s?)

Sweet Marie’s has seatings every Thursday thru Sunday at 12 noon and 2pm and it’s strictly reservation only.

Go to her site SweetMariesTea.com to book a tea for you and your best pal and see more about this dreamy tea room.

They are also on IG @SweetMariesTea.)

And as always, PLEASE let them know you found out about them here via Patty J and PattyJ.com.
