The Book Store And Adjacent Coffeehouse You'll Want To Check Out This Winter

Text The Book And Coffee Lovers In Your Circle

If you haven’t been to Wakefield in a while, I’m pretty sure these two (neighboring) businesses on Main Street are going to bring you back.

Rarities Books & Bindery at 396 Main Street is a bibliophile’s dream, srsly.

There’s a nice selection of antique books (but it doesn’t smell at all musty) as well as comfy reading nooks, even one with an electric fireplace.

Also, new books, including an impressive selection of ones about Lil Rhody, and some fantastic locally crafted gift items like wicks and wax from Coventry Candle Company.

And gotta love the brown paper wrapped “Blind Date With A Book” display at the main entrance.

As if all that wasn’t enough, Rarities offers repair and binding services. I mean, who else is doing that nowadays? (The owner is actually booked solid for the next month or two, too.)

When you’re done browsing and paying for your picks, you can walk thru the side door and into Caf Bar next door for a latte, hot tea, or smoothie.

Tbh, I’ve been wanting to check out Caf for ages and adore that this light filled and cheerful cafe is now adjacent to a terrific bookstore. (They relocated from 119 Main Street.)

Find Rarities and Caf at 396 Main Street in Wakefield. Check their sites for hours of operation; they are not open evenings as of right now.

As always if you are inspired to visit one of both after reading this, please do let them know you found out about them via Patty J and PattyJ.com.
