Wintertime In Providence Just Got Sweeter With This Hot Cocoa Celebration

Hello, Hot Cocoa Weather

IG Superstar Angry Baker was there back in 2018, celebrating everything that so many locals already knew to be true.

Even before that memorable visit from Mendy, scoring a seat indoors was the ultimate get.

It’s freshly made hearty food and drink (also a friend schooled me a few years ago, explaining that they were the very 1st coffee shop to bring cold brew to Rhode Island) in an extremely photogenic East Coast rustic setting (you simply cannot take a bad photo there).

I’m talking about THE SHOP in Fox Point and the scoop is that they recently kicked off their much anticipated Cocoa Fest 2022. (True story, up until recently I was using hot cocoa and hot chocolate interchangeably but turns out they are quite different. Hot cocoa is actually sweeter and not as thick as a traditional hot choc.)

Ditto.

Be on the lookout for a new flavor every single week thru the end of the winter with the current one being Smoked Chill Cocoa (if you guessed Aleppo peppers and smoked cayenne, then, to quote Arthur Herbert Fonzarelli or Fonzi, CORRECTAMUNDO).

These are NOT your grainy, tear-open-a-pouch-and-add-water cups of cocoa.

Moreover, you’ll probably want to text that friend who puts Frank’s Red Hot on everything (aka, lives for SPICY eats and drinks) about this week’s.

More.

Find The Shop at 460 Wickenden Street in PVD. Prefer to do your ordering online? They’ve got you with multiple options for that.
