The Pizza At This Westerly Restaurant Is Wowing Locals And Visitors Alike

Downtown Westerly really has some terrific spots.

I mean, the Savoy Bookshop and Cafe is a gorgeous destination (straight out of a Nancy Meyer’s movie) for browsing and stocking up on fall and winter reads.

KNEAD Doughnuts has also put down roots in the area.

And then there are casual eateries like the Bridge and Cinder.

But wait, there’s more.

I’m talking about a DREAM restaurant that successfully combines — this is MAJOR — phenomenal baked goods (with the cornerstone being sourdough bread, donuts, bagels), pizza pies (howdyyy, sourdough crust), organic coffee drinks, craft cocktails, brunch, and din din.

Woah, that’s a lot and there are very few places I can think of that do all that and do it WELL. (It’s almost like, dare I say, if Seven Stars married A Mano Pizza. And holy moly, somehow a bartender from The Avery pops up and starts making these great drinks at the after-party. Also, at that same wedding party, someone from Nick’s on Broadway decides to cook up a storm — and poof, suddenly plates of eggs as well as dinner fare.)

Open since March 2022 and a spin-off from their original location in Mystic, Connecticut, Nana’s on High Street has been winning over both Rhody residents and tourists with their tippity top quality (their dough making process is all about overnite fermentation and using locally milled flour) eats and drinks.

Regulars go gaga over their classic and seasonal lattes, to-go bread and pastries, Margherita and white pizzas, weekend brunch, chia pudding (tapioca’s hepper and more nutritious cousin), and supper menu.

What can’t they do?

As someone who has enjoyed my share of sourdough bread and who could live on pizza 5 days a week, their sourdough crust pies had me at HELLO, lol.
