We Had Hot Toddies And Small Plates At This Cozy Spot In Providence

Consider this a gentle reminder to go back to The Eddy — on Eddy Street in Downtown Providence — for sips and light bites this winter.

This cozy, little dark bar really is something else!

I blogged about them back in 2015 AND 2016, too. (They used to do a buck-a-shuck night every Monday, not sure if they still offer but it was a blast. Read my 2016 post about them HERE; it’s a real hoot if I do say so myself.)

Our wait person/host was terrific, helping my friend KG and I with our request for off-the-menu and weak (we are lightweights) hot toddies on a chilly December evening.

Long story short, those drinks turned out to be just what we were looking for! (Yes, I would go back for those in a heartbeat. Shoutout to the bartender who made them.)

Next, we decided to get something to nosh on, so we opted for 2 cheeses (you can order a whole plate of them for around $37 before tax and tip…you can get meats also, but we are both mostly plant-based eaters) with bread.

We were pleasantly surprised to find just how delish and completely satisfying this small plate (served with jelly, a spicy mustard, and some cornichons or mini gherkins) was.

Wish I had pics to share of the food and drink but frankly because of the dim lighting (exactly what you want in a night out at a tiny bar in the capital city — unless you’re one of those people who like me can’t go anywhere without documenting it online, lololol) the photos and videos were a bit fuzzy.

They’re going to be closed Sat., Dec. 24th and Sun., Dec. 25th for the xmas holiday but OPEN this coming Monday, December 26th (aka, Boxing Day which has absolutely nothing to do with the sport by the way) for a major 10th anniversary celebration!

There’s going to be a dj and everything.

I mean, in case you’re looking for something fun-tastic to do to blow off steam after all the Christmas hoopla.

Find The Eddy at 95 Eddy Street, Downtown Providence.
