The Cheesy Bread At This Colombian Bakery In Pawtucket Is Incredible

When someone first tipped me off about the outrageously good cheesy rolls (I have seen the name spelled as both pan de bonos and pandebonos) at a bakery in Pawtucket in 2016, I knew I had to go.

And soon.

Spoiler alert, they were (and ARE) as scrumptious as that tipster had described!

They melt in your mouth and are unlike anything else I can think of.

Other items on the menu that their regulars go gaga over include their cafe con leche (coffee with milk), bunelos (round, fried bread), empanadas, tres leche (frosted sponge cake), and flan.

Precisely why I’m out here saying that next time you’re in the vicinity of 173 Lonsdale (frankly even if you're not, you’ll want to go out of your way) you must visit Caprichos Antioquenos, a second generation, family run Colombian bakery and restaurant that’s been in biz for well over 25 years.

After stuffing my face with at least 5 or 6 pan de bonos, during my initial excursion there, I later found out that you’re supposed to enjoy them with hot chocolate, either as a chaser or for dipping.

So, learn from my mistakes, and plan accordingly.

As always, if you end up picking up some eats at Caprichos in the near future, please do let them know you found out about them here via Patty J and PattyJ.com.
