The Amazing Johnston Pizzeria For Your Next Pie With Friends Or Family

People are pretty darn passionate about their pizza.

And there are all these spoken and unspoken rules about it, including the one about never ever EVER being seen eating a slice with a knife and fork. (Back in 2014, my NYC friends took to calling THAT pulling a de Blasio.)

Anywho, back to one of the yummiest pies in Rhode Island that you probably haven’t tried…YET.

It all started one Friday night (Pizza Friday at our house) when one of my brothers calls and says he's bringing the pizza. Little did we know how unbelievably delicious it was going to be. Yes, it made quite the impression. In other words, there were no leftovers whatsoever.

That's the real test, right?

Prior to that adventure in takeout, I had no freakin idea this place even existed. Apparently, the guy from that buzzed about billboard on the highway (remember the one that read: “You're going to love my food!") was the key to all this pizza greatness.

Now, I've tried the food at Osteria Toscana in Johnston, but while I was sleeping (or scrolling Instagram), the owner went and opened something next door called Pizzeria Romano, where our much loved pies originated. (Last I checked there were actually 3 locations of Pizzeria Romano around the state.)

Friends, if you like your pizza tasting like something you'd sample during a 2+ week tour of Rome, Florence, and Venice — in other words, NOT overloaded with tons of cheese or too salt-y tasting — and you are a fan of thin crust, then this is a destination not to be missed.

Run or walk briskly as I've been known to do.

Someone else I know, who apparently goes all the time (to the one in Johnston), also wanted me to say that the pizzeria has a real neighborhood vibe: it’s wildly popular with the locals, has a steady stream of regulars, and so on.

You might even see me enjoying a pie when you go.

Find Pizzeria Romano Johnston at 1571 Atwood Avenue.
