The Rhode Island Farmstand Where You Can Pick Up Some Of The Yummiest Pies

I stumbled on this farm-stand in Ashaway a while back (it’s dictionary definition off the beaten path) and ended up taking home some of the most delicious apple pies.

Turns out that the family (aka, husband, wife, and son) owned and run Pelloni Farm has amassed quite the following in the Hopkinton and Westerly area over the last 15 or so years because of those oh-so-incredible pies.

Customers also rave about their other baked goods (such as cider donuts and cupcakes), small batch ice cream, seasonal veggies, and jams & jellies.

Speaking of which, I hear their jam is served to guests over at the Ocean House in Watch Hill, which I for one think is a huge deal.

All the fruit that goes into those terrific jams and pies is indeed locally grown and super fresh — no canned fillings for them!

People have also been known to go off on a total tangent about how perfect and flaky their pie crust is. (I kid you not, we’re talking love letters.)

If you’re thinking of one or more pies for a weekend splurge, their past menus have included everything from staples like apple, pumpkin, and cherry to more creative twists like strawberry rhubarb, berry patch, and their signature Patriot Pie, a mix of red (apple and raspberry), white (am guessing the crust?), and blue (blueberry).

Find Pelloni Farm at 56 Ashaway Road in Ashaway, RI.

I believe their current days and hours of operation are Thursday thru Sunday from 8:30am to 4pm, but highly recommend calling first just to make sure they are open: Their number is (401) 377-8975.

As always, if you find yourself there loading up on pastries and pumpkin pie after reading this, do let them know you found out about them here via Patty J and PattyJ.com.
