We Lunched On The Patio At This Woonsocket Restaurant On The Blackstone River

Al Fresco On The Water

I’ve been wanting to visit this particular restaurant for years, ever since someone I spotlighted here on the blog (back in 2016 or maybe ‘17) listed it as a one of their local favorites.

So, at the last minute, the hubs and I took a spin over to 74 South Main Street in Woonsocket.

First things first, their cement patio on the banks of the Blackstone River with umbrella-ed tables and a full bar is a completely lovely spot on a summer or early fall day. (And I would be remiss if I didn’t say how much we enjoyed the classic rock music which was essentially the soundtrack to our Sunday lunch.)

I mean, I could see changing things up from the usual hangs on the water in Lil Rhody this time of year and meeting friends there for drinks and apps or a full meal. (Your friends will be surprised and delighted to be introduced to this nifty spot which has a dedicated WS following.)

We kicked things off with some cold drinks (juice for the hubs because he’s training for yet another marathon and a nice refreshing mojito for me) and then split a huge platter of their meat-less nachos.

Regulars rave about the steaks and a signature chicken dish (Ma Glockner’s), but since we eat mostly plant based, we opted for two of their classic salads which were fresh, crisp, and generously sized.

Their menu is loaded with classic comfort foods including fish & chips, wings, pastas, and tempting desserts such as housemade cheesecake (a fan fave) and coconut cream pie. (If I hadn’t inhaled more than half of that nachos platter, I would have sampled a sweet or two.)

Me personally? I would LOVE to also see a Beyond Meat Burger on there as well. (Had lunch on the patio at the Providence Art Club recently and was delighted to see they are now offering those.)

You’ll definitely want to bookmark this place for your next casual meal this month or next.
