The Italian Restaurant In Downtown Providence For Pizzette Frite, Parms, And Sips

Many restaurants come and go, which is why I want to give a shoutout to this Italian restaurant located in Downtown Providence that’s been around since 2014 (which in my book is practically an eternity in the RI restaurant scene).

Not only is the food delicious, the staff has always been pretty amazing, especially when we had a few family parties there over the years.

Also, an old friend that I used to work with in my Nordstrom days (she was a regional manager based in Jersey) was actually in town a few days ago and where did she go to dinner with her husband?

ROSALINA!

For starters, the Eggplant Parm is phenomenal: It's a family recipe and without a doubt one of the most popular items on the menu. A must try!

And the Pizzette Frite: Don't ask, just order. (If you’re curious, it’s where a doughboy and pizza meet.)

We used to adore the made fresh Gemelli, which I think is no longer on the menu, but you really cannot go wrong with a pasta dish there.

If like a cocktail or two before, with, or after din din, then boy, are you in luck because they have an absolutely swell selection including:

  • The Tommy Pickles, made with Tito’s vodka, hot pepper, and olive juice

  • The Satin Doll (named after the strip club that used to be down the street, the space is now a bbq place), made with St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur with prosecco, topped with club soda, served with a sidecar and garnished with a lemon twist

Regulars go gaga over their ravioli, parm entrees, sautéed shrimp and mussels, and the (vegan) cauliflower steak.

Find Rosalina at 50 Aborn Street in Providence, Rhode Island.
