The Other Day On Boston Neck Road

The sister restaurant to Jigger’s Diner on Main Street in EG (named for original owner Vilgot “Jigger” Lindberg and dating all the way back to 1917), Jigger’s South on Boston Neck Road in NK — in the building formerly occupied by Seaview Station restaurant — is so delightful that it may very well be our NEW fave breakfast spot.

Open since last summer, eggs, homefries and toast or waffles on their screened in patio will take you back to your childhood vacations in Rhode Island or Cape Cod. There’s also outdoor (picnic table) and inside seating and a coffee bar area where you can grab a cuppa joe and a muffin. This eatery has a charming and beach-y energy that I absolutely love and adore.

If you’re a fan of Johnny Cakes (think pancake adjacent, made with cornmeal), theirs should definitely be on your list as the owner competed in (and won) a cook off on CBS tv’s The Talk last year with her signature recipe. If not, then you’re still a-okay because their menu of morning and afternoon eats is colossal. They have everything you could possibly want from terrif coffee, hash sandwiches, and Belgium waffles to grilled bagels, pancakes, scones, and a variety of Benedicts.

In addition, they have a whole host of brunch sips including a hyper LOCAL Bloody Mary, made with vodka from Sons of Liberty, tabasco from Rhode Island RED, and pepper from Ocean State Pepper Company; mimosas; and Whaler’s IPA (they’re South Kingstown based…gotta tell ya that this establishment goes above and beyond when it comes to looping in Ocean State makers).

And before I forget…yes, you can grab things like vegetarian wraps, a half dozen different burritos, a ton of sandwiches, and more.

The portions are generous (in other words, you won’t leave hungry), the service is consistent and friendly, and the parking the day we were there was ample.

Find Jigger’s South at 640 Boston Neck Road in North Kingstown, Rhode Island.
