Winter Tea Is Back At This Bristol Mansion All Decorated For Christmas

Pinkies Up For Tea At This Christmassy Mansion Overlooking The Bay

Winter Afternoon Tea at Blithewold is back for Christmas 2025, and tickets are selling like hot cakes!

This Monday through Friday tea time is very Jane Austen infused with a heaping helping of Holiday decor and merriment.

In addition to the updated menu (a pot with scones with jam and clotted cream plus cucumber sanwiches as well as pear sandwich with apricot jam and cream cheese, chicken salad in a phyllo cup, ham and pimento cheese, shrimp pate) served either on the sun room overlooking The Bay or in the main dining room of the manor house (which is actually Blithewold 2 because the original burnt down in 1906 and was subsequently rebuilt), you can order French Macarons which is probably not the way it rolls at Balmoral, Clarence House or Kensington Palace but whatevs.

Frankly it’s the closest I’ve gotten to an English countryside experience ever. (For the record, even though the editors at Airmail have essentially said The Cotswolds is so five years ago, it remains on my travel wish list.)

And don’t leave without getting your photo snapped near the bird sculpture with the Santa hat.

Or popping in to the gift shop that’s stocked with tons of tempting things.
