A Delicious Narragansett Restaurant For After The Beach Dinner

Happy First Day Of Summah From Gansett, RI

Summer’s here, and so — thank goodness — is BEACH weather.

If you’re looking for a place to land after the beach for a spritz and a bite or two, then how about this Euro-inspired restaurant that’s walking distance from Ocean Road?

Open since last summer, a meal at Celeste feels just like stumbling on a charming eatery somewhere in Majorca (Spain) or Amalfi Coast (Italy).

My friend K. and I kicked off our meal by sipping on a few of their Mermaid Water mocktails (pineapple, mint, lime juice, simple syrup, soda).

If you want something with more of a kick, move over Aperol Spritz because their Tearsdrop Spritz (ramos pinto lagrima port, lemon, soda) and Spanish Negroni are both pretty swell.

The menu has plates inspired by Spanish, Italian and French cooking. I mean, you can get a great Margherita Pizza AND small (tapas) plates like warm olives, whipped feta, mussels mariniere, salt cod croquettes, and shrimp sofrito.

Order a bunch, tuck into them from your table on their Pier Patio, and feel like you’re out-of-office, on vacay in San Sebastian or something.

Can we circle back to pizza for a sec — because they have 7 different versions (including a dynamite spinach and feta that I sampled on Wednesday evening) for those craving a few slices this season.

Woah, woah, woah…not to worry pescatarians! They also have some delectable fish (main) dishes that you can dig into after a full day of sun and salt in the Ocean State.

I can’t wait to go back with my husband for lunch on the patio one of these weekends. (He will most likely order the Salmon with beluga lentils.)

It’s the next best thing to having a beach bungalow in the vicinity.

Find Celeste at 15 Kingstown Road in Narragansett, RI.
