A New Gelato Cafe Is Bringing European Summer Vibes To Providence

There’s a brand new gelato and sweet shop in Providence (they’ve been open for about a month or so), and we stopped by the other day.

The aptly named Delite Cafe on Reservoir Avenue (I won’t fault you if you start singing, “Groove is in the heart…”) is bringing 10 flavors of gelato (they change weekly), and you can also have your gelato in a bubble waffle cone with pretty toppings and add-ons. Pssst, for starters, you must try the BIscoff version; it is loaded with those Biscoff cookies and the vanilla flavor gelato is superb.

Hot Take Time! It reminds me of a European cafe you might stumble on while exploring Italy or Spain. (We saw plenty of them when we were in Rome and Florence about ten years ago!)

Me At The Gelato Cafe

This family run biz makes everything fresh. I mean, not only the bubble waffles which were made before our eyes. I’m also talking fruit tarts, cream puffs, macarons, cookies, tiramisu and beyond.

They also have a full drink menu with specialty coffees, matcha, and boba tea. So many choices!

Highlights From The Gelato Cafe In PVD

Inside, it’s cuteness on display: colorful neon signs, a selfie nook with a plush green velvet loveseat, and a faux lemon tree that channels Amalfi Coast vibes—plus another sign proudly bearing the cafe’s name.

Open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., so there’s plenty of time for an impromptu gelato run.
