The Pho-nomenal Pawtucket Restaurant You'll Want To Add To Your New Year Rotation

It’s soup season.

Whether you have an Instant Pot or not (Air fryers are this year’s Insta Pots btw.) you’ll still want to know about Pho Horn’s, the casual Vietnamese eatery that’s tucked away in a strip mall not far from the Providence-Pawtucket line.

I had a steaming hot bowl of pho, the classic Vietnamese soup, there recently (They made mine vegetarian, with a vegetable broth and tofu instead of the more traditional beef broth and meat or fish add-ins.) and it was most definitely something to Instagram Story about.

Maybe you saw the Boomerang of me, duck style spoon in hand, with actual steam rising up from said bowl? (IG Stories, after all, are essentially the 21st century version of writing home about something.)

We also had some spring rolls with a kicky dipping saunce and a starter salad with greens and green peppers.

The rice noodles were dangerously good and did not soak up all the broth, as other ones are wont to do.

The bowl itself was also substantial and filling enough to be a fantastic stand alone meal.

I mean, is there anything better on a chilly winter day than dipping into a pipping hot order of soup?

Also, I am now of the mindset that the runny nose you get whilst eating really hot soup and spicy-ish soup might be embarrassing - and the antithesis of a Miss Manners scenario - but can help clean out the sinuses and keep you well, especially important during flu season. (Speaking of which, cannot believe this thread over on Twitter I was just scanning, with local RI’ers posting about being sick right now.)

The only reason I found out about this place really is because someone in my circle was there for lunch recently and raved about the bowl of pho she’d had.

She also said it was jam packed. (Read: It has a cult following.)

The exterior, however, is about as nondescript as it gets, so you might be tempted to pass it by. That, however, would be a mistake of epic proportions.

Just go and warm up with a big bowl of their phenomenal pho.
