3 Hand Creams Including 1 From This Rhody Clean Beauty Co That I'm Reaching For

As of this morning, I’ve lost count when it comes to exactly how many times a day I’m either washing my hands, reaching for one of the mini hand sanitizers I was (thankfully) able to scoop up at the Bath & Body Works at PPMall last weekend, or hitting “touch points” around my house with Lysol wipes (which along with everything Purel are currently unavailable over on Amazon).

Now I’m certainly not alone in this ongoing Covid 19-related wash, hand sanitize, and wipe down cycle, which begs the question, “how are your hands looking and feeling right now?”

Mine are beat. Or should I say, BEET red?

So, partly for self care and also because I need a minor distraction to keep me from spending every waking free moment reading, listening or watching news and views related to C-19, I have decided to throw myself into taking better care of my hands…between washings of course! And in case you’re interested in doing the same, I’m sharing three of my favorite moisturizers for the more delicate, thinner skin on our hands that really work.

I first discovered the L’Occitane line about 25 years ago while exploring the little shops in the “hidden” courtyards off Worth Ave in Palm Beach. Since then, they’ve opened up shops all over the country, all over the world. My go-to from them is forever their original hand cream in the classic silver tube with the bright blue label and the all important 20% shea butter (a centuries old remedy for dry scalp and skin that’s made from the fruit pits culled from West African shea trees). I definitely see a major improvement in the appearance of my hands whenever I use it faithfully.

*Good news, there’s a local L’Occitane in Garden City (Cranston) or you can always order online.

Pretty sure I first found out about YuBe, a wildly popular moisturizer in Japan, during a visit to a Sephora. I had never seen or heard about it prior to, but once I started using it, I was hooked. Unlike so many other products meant to soften and smooth, this cream has a staying power and keeps hands (it’s marketed as a full body treatment, but I LOVE it strictly for hands) on point for hours. Yes, the scent is kinda strong when you first apply, but the camphor smell goes away in about a minute and you’ll be jazzed about how great it leaves your mitts looking.

*Good news? Haven’t seen it at Sephora recently, but YuBe is always available online at yu-be.com.

Been a fan of Farmaesthetics - the RI based, clean skincare trailblazing company - since my pre blogging days. Also, whenever I’m in Watch Hill (usually during the summer), I always shop their products via the Spa at the Ocean House. Their dry shampoo is a must for anyone who loves extending a blowout to day 3 or (don’t @ me) even 4 without being too perfume-y or making your hair feel stiff and starchy immediately following. When it comes to the hands, though, the post above is an absolute epiphany! I mean, most of us already have a rose quartz or jade roller in our arsenals, but combine it with their Herbal Hydration Complex and cheers to healing of that dried out or chapped skin that we’re all probably sporting this week.
