The Cranston Based Artist Who's Creating Amazing Tees, Tea Towels And A Lot More

What first caught my eye was the logo he created for my friend Erika from the I Heart Rhody blog and social. (See image below.)

Hey — I’m a fan of pop art.

I mean, I have multiple copies of The Andy Warhol Diaries (has anyone read it cover to cover, really now) and back in the late 80’s and early 90’s, I went out of my way to buy copies of Interview magazine at the College Hill Bookstore on Thayer Street (still miss them to this very day).

Also, yours truly is a card carrying member of RISD Museum which is actually opening back up (applause, applause) coming up on June 13th.

I’m talking about Cranston based (you probably thought I was going to say Providence, amirite?) artist Jeff Palmer of Taft Street Studios and the Pixel Palmer Instagram.

And you don’t have to be looking for a custom logo or anything, that’s only one element of what Jeff does.

He has everything from his signature Rhody Red t-shirts and prints to flags for your front or backyard, and these cute tea towels.

Okay, have you ever been over someone’s house and realized they don’t have any dish towels for drying their dishes and glasses? (What’s THAT all about anyway?)

Maybe pick them up a few of Jeff’s “Rhode Island, Our Grit Makes Us Great” ones, available now at one of my all time favorite local stores for mugs, dishes, and other home goods, Peter Pots in West Kingston. (I’ve said it before, but it is worth repeating: finding coffee mugs made in Rhode Island or even New England is next to impossible — unless you’re at Peter Pots.)

Are you curious?

Maybe you want to see some of his work for yourself, in person.

Well, Jeff is popping up this month and beyond at some of the local farmers markets with a variety of his prints, tees, flags, and other surprises. (Last Saturday he was at the Pawtuxet Village one at iconic Rhodes On The Pawtuxet. My Auntie Betty used to go dancing there back in the days when people would get all dressed up in their finest attire and trip the light fantastic.)
