We Tried This Plant Based Eatery In East Greenwich And It Was Pretty Terrific

I don’t get over to Main Street in EG as much as I would like to, but I did recently make lunch plans with an old friend to try out PB Bistro & Pub (guessing that the PB stands for plant based).

We sat outside — guys, I am back to al fresco only and takeout as of this month — but my pal C. did tell me that the inside was pretty nice looking.

Wish I’d snapped a few quick phone photos for y’all, honestly it was so humid that I just wasn’t feeling much like being THAT PERSON on that particular afternoon.

Also, let me say that I adore how more eateries specializing in meatless eats are popping up around Rhode Island.

How I missed out on PB Bistro is a mystery to me, apparently they have been open for business for more than a year and are certainly NOT new-ish.

Anywho, let’s get to the important stuff — the service and the food.

We were one of two parties seated at the tables out front that affternoon and (drum roll please) our experience was first rate.

Our server was pleasant and sociable without being a chatterbox and he made sure we had everything we needed.

My niece B. always says it’s a good idea to study a menu online in advance, prior to arriving at the restaurant.

Smart for sure, but I never do it and usually wind up needing some extra time to figure out which dishes I want to sample.

No surprise, that day was no different.

Despite my lack of preparation, though, I ended up hitting the midday meal jackpot with their “Calamari” (just the right level of spicy) and Cauliflower Bites.

Both were tasty enough to make a fan out of anyone in your circle, including those naysayers who might turn their noses up at such things. (We all know someone who swears up and down that they would NEVER eat vegetarian or vegan.)

For mains, we opted for their Avocado Tacos and Go-Go Salad respectively and we had nothing but praise for both dishes.

So, if you’re looking for another meat-free restaurant to add in to your rotation going forward, gotta say based on our experience, I would say you really should give this place a whirl.

PB Bistro & Pub is located at 241 Main Street in East Greenwich, RI.
