Get Cozy With A Candle From These Bristol, Rhode Island Makers

Make Thing Cozy

All of a sudden, the days are grey and windy, and the nights are chilly.

Time to put the summer clothes away and pull out the fall sweaters, blankets, and mugs.

Also, why not refresh your candle supply with something from these Bristol based makers?

I first heard about Juniper Hill Apothecary via Lisa, the owner of Ink Fish Books on Main Street in Warren.

They created a special candle for her 2021 Rhody Reader Book Box. (See the NEW for 2022 one here.)

A few months later, the hubs and I happened upon their booth at the Tiverton Farmers Market where they had an intriguing selection of their winter and holiday offerings. (Fun fact, their Skating, Christmas Is Coming and O Tannenbaum ones were all inspired by “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and the music of the late Vince Guaraldi, the jazz pianist who scored all those now classic Peanuts tv specials.)

I adored the imaginative scents including Coffee Coffee, Biblioteca (with hints of cedar, leather, teakwood), and Tobacco & Leather: These are NOT your run-of-the-mill vanilla votives!

They make a marvelous gift to yourself right now, especially if you’re a fan of “clean” beauty and home goods.

I say that because I was jazzed to learn that everything single one is hand poured in Bristol (RI) and phthalate free. They also use environmentally friendly cotton wicks and soy wax, which burns longer than paraffin and with less soot (always a good thing, amirite).

They don’t have an online store yet, but you can find some of their wares on the Frog & Toad site and at The Hen House (a charming store in Chepachet that carries all kinds of great locally made food, gifts, trinkets, housewares, and so on), and at Ink Fish.

And, if you follow them on Instagram @Juniper.Hill.Apothecary, you’ll get updates about where they’ll be popping up this season and beyond.

PS — I’ve bought their Coffee Coffee 🕯 for my momma.

As always, if you shop Juniper Hill Apothecary after reading this, please do let them know you heard about them via Patty J and PattyJ.com.
