Sips And Sweets In The City

Last Thursday night, the hubs and I popped into 345 Plant City (you may remember it as the location of Clean Plate a few years back) which is just across the parking lot from the original Food Hall on South Water Street in Providence.

For starters, we both agreed that this dimly lit (romantic vibes) and nifty lounge is an absolutely marvelous date night spot, especially a first date when you really want to wow that someone new in your life.

Extra bonus points if your date eats plant based and prefers a mocktail.

I say this because the one I had the other evening was so darn tasty.

Yes, their “Cuddles On The Beach” — made with ginger beer, soda water, cucumber shrub, lychee syrup, lime juice, and five spice syrup — was refreshing but never boring.

It struck me as a multi-layered drink experience, a West (Los Angeles…in the best possible way of course) meets East Coast sort of concoction.

The hubs and I also devoured two orders of their Edamame.

Love how they serve it, with an extra bowl that you can use to put the empty pods.

So VERY civilized and underrated of an idea.

Also, another highlight was their FRIED ICE CREAM, made with mango ice cream, yuzu mango, and matcha powder which was out of this world!

And NOT embarrassed to say that I alone polished off the entire bowl. (See photo above.)

It was completely satisfying without that any of that overly full feeling that I would have probably had after inhaling a scoop of traditional ice cream made with dairy, classic toppings.

If you haven’t been in a bit (or gasp, ever), it’s time, lol.
