The Cute Patio At This Rustic Little Compton Restaurant For Breakfast And Coffee

Al Fresco In Adamsville (Little Compton, Rhode Island)

If you’re not an early riser, you’ll want to change things up one of these mornings and take a spin over to the darling patio at The Barn in the charming village of Adamsville, which dates back to 1675 and was named for President John Adams. (Did I ever tell you…I went to Classical High School with Adams’ great-great-great-GREAT grandson?)

It’s open seven days, weather permitting, but only until 12 weekdays and 1pm on weekends, so do plan accordingly. Definitely worth skipping at least one late nite binge of your fave shows on the streaming app that you’re currently working your way thru, so you can wake up rested, refreshed and ready for the drive to LC. (I hear it fills up fast on the weekends, just saying.)

Tbh I’ve been trying to make it over for ages.

That being said, my friend K.G. — we both worked at Nordstrom Providence back in the day — had breakfast there and you know what?

It’s everything I thought it would be and MORE: a beautiful and bucolic spot (lotsa roses to snap photos of for your social) where we feasted on classic am American fare, including all kinds of eggs, blueberry pancakes, and brekkie potatoes.

And don’t even get me started about how much I enjoyed the coffee. Think I drank at least 3 mugs? (Refills are free, too, so no worries about being zinged with some outrageous cawfee or beverage charge on the bill when all is said and done.)

Regulars rave about their famous cinnamon rolls, the eggs benedict, omelettes, and the grilled sweet bread.

It’s a picturesque and entirely relaxing casual dining experience in one of the prettiest corners of our state. (Keep scrolling for our photos.)

After we ate we actually drove over to a farmstand, just over the line in Westport, for some native strawberries and tomatoes.
