We Had Lunch At This Italian Restaurant In Rhode Island Everyone Goes Gaga Over
You might automatically associate Newport with seafood lunches and dinners, but have you been to the Pasta Beach on Bellevue Ave?
We popped in for lunch the other day — my 1st time at the NPT location — and LOVE it!
First of all, the decor and overall ambiance is very Malibu meets Amalfi Coast with a nice selection of the Southern Italian classics favored by so many RI-based Italio Americans (pssssst…yes, there is indeed a tiny can of olive oil on every single table).
Must be the banana leaf wallpaper (if you know, you know), white and green color story throughout, the gorgeous bar area (see below), and the enchanting patio with plenty of greenery, a fire table (for chilly nights) and cozy seating.
You almost expect Leo, Cindy C., or Pierce Brosnan (who all have homes in Malibu Colony, not Newport, wink) to breeze in at any moment and grab a table in the back.
As for the most important thing, the food, the hubs and I agreed that it was very good and we would go back in a heartbeat.
We kept things classic with a margherita pizza and spaghetti pomodoro; both of which were thoughtfully prepared and brought to the table quite quickly. And subsequently inhaled by us, lol.
Regulars rave about their summer sips (including the Sangria), their made-fresh-in-house bread and pastas, and the salads.
Also, you’ll want to make a reservation because we were seated on the patio out back, but almost ended up at the bar (which for the record would’ve been perfectly fine) as they were pretty busy for lunch service, what with it being July 4th weekend and all.
Find Pasta Beach Newport, their original location, at 138 Bellevue Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island.
