The Cutest Clam Shack In North Kingstown For Chowder, Fries, And More

It wasn’t until Summer 2022 that I realized Gardner’s Wharf Seafood in The Wick actually doubles as a CLAM SHACK.

Feasting on amazing casual bites surrounded by beach roses and sailboats?

Absolutely!

Tucked away at the end of Main Street in Wickford Village (North Kingstown) and overlooking Narragansett Bay, Gardner’s is a seafood market and Tuesdays thru Sundays, starting at 11am, a takeout eatery called Chevy’s Shack. (Psst…Not sure if they are still available, but one summer they actually had trucker hats with the Chevy’s logo on them.)

I was there not long ago for their clam cakes and chowder special — 3 cc’s and a cuppa the chowder of your choice (red Manhattan, clear Rhode Island, or the creamy white New England style).

So good and I LOVE sitting at the tables off to the side where you can see little boats (and the larger fishing ones across the parking lot) coming in and going out.

It’s pretty peaceful there during the week, which is so nice if you want to unplug or whatever.

They also have picnic table seating out back, too.

Regulars go gaga over their hand-cut fries, lobster rolls, fish and chips, and much more. The menu is indeed ginormous, so take a look when you have a minute.

Find Gardner’s Wharf Seafood/Chevy’s Shack at 170 Main Street in Wickford Village (NK), Rhode Island.
