Some Low Key Amazing Spots For Outdoor Eats & Meets In Cranston

Summer in Rhode Island, and we really earned our sunny days this go around. Such a crazy Spring in these parts, right? Well, with this in mind, we're officially throwing our hat into the ring of full on celebrating outdoor eats and drinkies - and that patio and sidewalk cafe life - with these classic picks for western Cranston. Because frankly, what's not to love? We're super fans and you will be too once you've experienced these swell spots.

Head over to Garden City and meet your bff's for lunch, drinks or dinner on the patio at either Bistro 22 (live jazz on Friday nights now too, weather permitting) or Avvio (their side patio continues to be an #obsession). Outdoor dining in GC is an absolute must do during June, July, and August. Make a reservation if possible because both of those spots are jamming this time of year. Style Guide: A fantastic pair of sunnies is essential, and show off your new pedi in a pair of strappy sandals while you're at it. You can also charge your phone at the free solar charging station right near Bistro. Perfect for those stressful times you suddenly realize you're running on 5%.

*The side patio at the new-ish Anthony's Coal Fire? Also enjoyable and deserving of a shoutout especially for lunch on a 70 or 80 degree day.

Motor over to Sundaes on Oaklawn Ave. Previously, there was a PattyJ.com post praising a fav ice cream destination in Watch Hill. Well, the outcry from fans of Sundaes was intense. Yes, Sundaes has a loyal and extensive fan base of repeat customers for so many reasons, including dozens of flavors of both soft serve + hard ice cream (Their black raspberry chip is a scorching hot seller.), ginormous portions (Have you see what they call a small? Holy Moly!), and then there's their Only 8 (8 calories a spoonful? Idk.). On any given night, the line is down the street and it's quite the scene, where you'll spy everyone from families with toddlers to cutesy couples still in the honeymoon stage to white hairs as well as the occasional hipsters. Style Tip: Go cas and show off your best looking pair of kicks and messy bun (a la Meghan Markle) or high pony (a la JLO).

Next stop? The Allegro counter (also known as the sorta secret coffee stop a lot of ppl are missing out on big time) at the Whole Foods GC entrance for an iced coffee or tea with your choice of milks (tbh the only place in Cranston right now where you can get oat or hemp milk) and then of course, their outdoor seating. Pop over at lunchtime and it's a who's veritable who of Cranston. Style Tip: Aviators, baseball caps, nice looking yoga pants, and distressed denim are all de rigueur.
