This Warwick Restaurant Is Reopening This Weekend & You'll Def Want To Make Dinner Plans

Yesterday I deplaned in Warwick, then headed home to unpack and hydrate. (Flying will do a number on your skin for sure!)

Next on the return to Rhode Island agenda? The pre re-opening party at the Iron Works, the former foundry turned eatery which has been closed for updating since February and is now part of the Newport Restaurant Group family.

Along with my fav Rhody-based bon vivant, and friend since college, in tow of course.

Sure I could have stayed home and live Tweeted last night’s episode of Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills or something, but so glad I didn’t (For the record, like so many others on social these days, I’m pretty much over this season’s #puppygate drama.) because everything about last night’s event was outstanding.

From the small plates and creative cocktails to the actual setting and live music, we were truly impressed. Since I eat mostly plant-based these days, I can and will give thumbs up to anything meat-free, including the hors d’oeuvres (A delish cheese puff with onions and honey comes to mind.), fries, and desserts (Almond Toffee Cheesecake. Yummmmm.). All delightful!

My friend C., the bon vivant mentioned above, had high praise for everything else she sampled, including the nachos and dip. The bar specifically is also gorgeous and the Cool As A Cucumber Martini (Hendrick’s , St. Germain elderflower, and house made cucumber-rosemary lemonade) was as great as anything we’ve had at more high profile, oft-Instagrammed-from spots around the state. (PS ~ Karen Walker would approve, and would raise a glass or three.)
