We Did The Drive Thru Jack O Lantern Spectacular And It Was As Boo-tiful As Ever

Let me just say that it wouldn’t feel like fall around these parts without the Jack O Lantern Spectacular at RWP. (Some people have been known to go multiple times — once to take photos and other times to truly enjoy the fall-tastic experience. Jus sayin.)

So, when I found out that RWP was going forward with the Jack O Lantern Spectacular this year and making it an entirely drive thru experience, I was both relieved and intrigued.

Not long after hearing the news, I made sure to hop online and secure tickets. The fee this year is $50 per vehicle; you can bring up to 7 people in your car, suv, or sedan, though. You also get a designated viewing time and are asked to actually get there about 15 minutes prior.

On our night (last night), we motored over, not really sure of what to expect.

The great news is that the entire process was pretty smooth and organized. We did wait in our designated line (you are divided into separate lines based on your viewing time) for around 25 or 30 minutes, but it wasn’t terrible. There was a definite excitement and anticipation in the air and I think that made the wait no big deal.

My only regret is that I was a little too focused on taking phone photos for Instagram (unspoken rule: if you have an IG account, you need to post minimum one fabulous photo from JOLS this month). So, I might have to go back and do it all over again to fully appreciate the nuances.

Anywho, it’s a not to be missed outdoor family outing right now in the OS.

Another plus? October evenings are chilly, but because you’re watching from your vehicle, you can always put your seat warmers on to keep you toasty whilst scoping out the pumpkin art and lights.
