If you’ve seen any of my previous posts about The Farmer’s Daughter in South Kingstown, you may be aware that I’ve often said that they should open some kind of coffee shop or cafe on the premises.

Well, how jazzed was I when we paid them a visit yesterday afternoon, about an hour before they were scheduled to close, and saw that there was a food truck with eats and drinks? (And for the record, I am only sharing this oh-so-important detail on the blog today and not anywhere else online.)

Now it may only be a weekend set-up and not an everyday type thing, but it’s certainly a step in the right direction. (You may want to give them a ring in advance to see.)

Also, the decor this year is the best it’s ever been (!!!) and they are going forward with their “Autumn Days” festival which features hayrides, a corn and strawbale mazes, and scavenger hunts.

Of course they are following all the protocols for this fall including requiring masks and social distancing, so bring your favorite face covering along to wear whilst there.

Their farm stand is also up and running and stocked with plenty of seasonal vegetables and fruits.

We picked up some potatoes (fun fact that I just read in Town & Country that the potato was a cornerstone of Audrey Hepburn’s eating plan), tomatoes and apples (my kind of apple “picking” since there’s no need to break a sweat).

And there are plenty of gorgeous seasonal displays with pumpkins, gourds and the like for you to take phone photos of and share on your social app of choice.
