3 Fall-tastic Places In RI For Outdoor Photos, Dining And More

Sure, you can wander Providence in search of perfect fall photo ops, but just about everyone else you know (or have ever known if you’re a native Rhode Islander) is probably doing or planning on doing the exact same thing. Ditto, all of a sudden, as far as The Farmer’s Daughter in South Kingstown goes too. No need to stress, though, because here’s a list of 3 other awesome places in Rhode Island for all your autumnal and open air needs and wants.

1) Pawtuxet River Trail in Cranston - Lace up those L.L. Bean duck boots (you know the drill…they sell out every single year…yada yada yada), maybe layer on a puffer vest, and don’t forget a mask or face covering. Also, fingers crossed, someone in your pandemic pod knows how to take a decent I-Phone photo. You’ll find plenty of leaves to crunch under foot and art direct into your images.

2) The Treehouse Tavern in Warwick - The Tavern, a converted farmhouse that dates all the way back to 1860, has been a popular outdoor dining spot for ages, prior to any of this. Before fire pits were hot (get it? hot???) they had one. They also have another open space nearby, that they call the woodshed, that boasts a fireplace and a chandelier. All of this makes it an ideal destination for October 2020, amirite?!? So, why not grab your significant other and motor over for some al fresco eats as well as a couple of their signature s’mores martinis?

3) Chepachet - Yes, Brown & Hopkins Country Store is still a must see and shop. It’s a sweet historic spot for picking out some holiday gifts (candles, jams and jellies, Rhody themed reads, and the like), especially for those friends who seem to always have the Hallmark Channel fired up on the tellie. The area around the shop is also picturesque to the nth degree (see my photos below) and easily lends itself to fantastic snaps for Instagram, Facebook and such.
