The Gourd-geous Pumpkin Patch In Newport You'll Want To Go And See This Week

Hello, Pumpkin!

I just heard that this weekend is supposed to be the peak when it comes to fall foliage or (cringe) leaf peeping as the kids on IG like to say. If you’re wanting to get out this Saturday or Sunday and take advantage of this development (which to me feels so sudden), then how about the pumpkin patch at Trinity Church on Queen Anne Square in Newport?

Unless you’re from NPT or you’re there on a pretty regular basis, you may not be aware that Trinity even has pumpkins. I know I wasn’t. And I hadn’t really seen much about it online either for that matter. (To be fair the Viking included it as part of their autumnal go-to’s in an Instagram post this morning, but yours truly was already drafting THIS post by then.)

Welcome To The Patch

You see, we were there yesterday afternoon, as part of a mini (socially distanced) photoshoot with Lisette Rooney Photography, and I was pleasantly surprised: It’s so cute and charming! A gourd-geous backdrop for your fall phone phones. (They do ask for a voluntary donation if you are taking snaps there.) Or shop the impressive pumpkin selection and take a few home. Or go all out fall in New England and buy a cup or two of hot cider at the stand that’s set up in the back.

So, pop the collar on that tweed blazer or barn jacket, grab a fresh mask and don’t forget your sunnies because it’s worth driving over the (Pell) Bridge for.

Also, there are plenty of eateries in the vicinity where you can dine outdoors and the city of Newport isn’t playing around when it comes to masking which is quite reassuring these days. Almost everyone we saw on Thursday was masked and there were signs all over the place saying that they were required.
