Celebrate Mom With Curbside Pickup Of Sweets From This Iconic RI Candy Maker

People go crazy over their chocolate covered nuts (the Oreos and caramels also), dark chocolate, and sugar free candies, but did you know…

Walter Sweenor actually started what we have come to know as Sweenor’s Chocolates out of his house in Cranston some 60 or so years ago.

With quarantine fatigue setting in, thought we could all appreciate that detail of their history right now. (For some reason, I was under the misimpression that these OG confectioners had gotten their start in Wakefield, but nope, no way, and no how.)

More importantly, however, Mother’s Day is less than a week away and tick tock — and I don’t mean the app everyone’s either posting on or about. (My take? If you can’t dance or copycat a stunt that could have also been featured on the ole America’s Funniest Home Videos on ABC tv, you are outta luck.)

Even with social distancing in place this time around, also whether your mom admits to having a sweet tooth or not (for the record mine does not), you can still pick up her favorite thoughtfully crafted sweets from these iconic 4th generation makers.

I mean, the boxed MOM’s in the photo above are adorable, and a lot more special than, say, anything mass market out there.

They’re also doing these charming Quarantine Care Packages, available for online order. (Not sure if there’s time to online it for the Mother’s Day holiday, but you can certainly opt to do curbside pickup at either their Garden City Cranston or Wakefield locations.)

It would be soooo fun to find one of these tempting baskets out on the doorstep this month, amirite? Not to mention a welcome break in the monotony of the days.
