You Can Tour The PVD River While Social Distancing This Weekend & Wow

I have certainly not been encouraging anyone to galavant around Rhode Island during all of this.

On May 8th, however, we will be gingerly coming up on Phase 1 of reopening the state.

And then this morning, an email popped up from the Providence River Boat Co. about a tour they’re offering this Sunday, May 10th for Mom’s Day.

They have, of course, made some major changes to how they will be touring this year.

I liked seeing that they have capped their passenger number at 9 (not a large group and in keeping with RI’s guidelines), that they are requiring face coverings (time to start building that face mask wardrobe because whether we like it or not, they are going to be with us for a while), and that everyone will be socially distant from one another while boarding and sitting.

I mean, being out on the water in the sun light and fresh air — with those saftey precautions — does sound pretty appealing right now.

Two words? Cabin Fever.

Two more? Quarantine Fatigue. (We saw it the last two weekends for sure!)

And if I see one more Instagram post about how I should be meditating or starting a gratitude journal…

Also, let me backtrack for a second and say that the first time I toured the PVD River and all that surrounds it with them (in 2016 when we took these phone photos), I was incredibly impressed with the entire experience.

It was both informative and highly entertaining, thanks to Captain Tom & Company.

As a native Rhode Islander, I learned so much about the city! (Kind of embarrassed to admit THAT, but also know I’m not alone when it comes to gaps in my local history knowledge.)
