Whether you follow RI-based social media royals KJP and his wife Sarah Vickers who have done a number of photoshoots for Instagram there or (like me) you’re just looking for some fun-tastic outdoor activities this month, Dame Farm And Orchard on Brown Street in Johnston — across from the original location of the still wildly popular Wicked Tulips — definitely deserves a spot on your summer 2021 agenda.

And right now the sunflowers are in bloom in a very big way there!

Stand Tall And Face The Sun

If you want to walk the fields, and take some phone photos at Dame, tickets are reasonably priced (around $7, give or take) and yes, they do take plastic. You can also sign up to pick your own sunflowers or blueberries right now, too. My great friend Karen and I opted to go the general admission and phone photo route yesterday.

Later, we went back up to the store where we purchased housemade apple cider donuts and biscotti (so delish) as well as grown-on-the-premises blueberries. If you want to take some sunnies home with you but don’t want to be bothered with doing the actual cutting (I hear you), then Dame also has vases full of their lovely flowers (sunflowers and a whole lot more) available for purchase.

Solid Gold

Dame Farm (which dates back to the 1890’s) has expanded in a major way over the last couple of years.

They have a ginormous area with sunflowers and an adjacent section where they are growing a variety of other colorful blooms that you will want to snap tons of pics of. (Make certain your phone’s charged up and ready!)

They are also hosting private events ty and I believe, for an additional fee, you can bring a professional photographer along to capture your excursion.

Check out their site for complete details, so you can plan a morning or afternoon there real soon.

As always, if you take a sun-day at Dame after reading this, please let them know you were inspired by Patty J and PattyJ.com.
