The Patio And Lawn At This Wickford Restaurant Are Perf For Catching Up With Your Faves

Chews And Views In The Wick

In it’s 15th year, Tavern By The Sea in Wickford has expanded their outside seating and I’m here for it!

You can sit on the rustic deck that overlooks Wickford Harbor or on the back lawn where there are views of a pond. (Stacey Doyle & I did photos on that pond in 2018. A friend had offered her rowboat and her time.)

One caveat before we go any further: Reservations are essential because the wait for a table on any given summer day or September night can be lengthy.

Also, if you would prefer to sit on the patio, you definitely want to book in advance.

Tavern (always tempted to write Tavern On The Green where I’ve never actually eaten but have seen in plenty of movies, so I feel as though I have, lol) is a completely delightful spot for casual eats and drinks.

If you’re a big seafood fan, they got you! If not, no worries because there’s something for every eater on their sizeable menu.

When we were there the other day, our wait person was so engaging and upbeat. (Cannot say enough greattt things about her.)

And we were truly excited — like a couple of kids — to see Del’s Lemonade on the menu.

Along with our frozen lemonades, we also devoured some clam cakes (I mean, you have to order them at least once during the summer in Rhode Island), sweet potato fries, veggie burgers, and salads.

They are open thru October (they close for the season from November until March), but you’ll want to get there for an open air meal whilst the weather’s still mild.

If you can score a table in time to watch the sunset over the water with your favorite person or people, then you are golden.

Tavern By The Sea is located at 16 West Main Street in Wickford Village.
